WELLNESS THOUGHT: “spring is nature’s way of saying, ‘Let’s Party!’”
- Robin Williams
David: Between the fire department and the farm he has been really busy. Now that spring is here he has been trying to prepare for the upcoming summer season. The fire departments call volume has increased the past couple weeks, he was proud to announce lives have been saved due to their responding.
Kat: She is cooking bone broth soup to have homemade soup at the health fair.
She is also pretty distraught over the relationship with the police and the citizens of Nenana. She sees how people are scared of them and do not want them in the community. She would like to see people welcome the cops and understand they are here to protect and serve the community opposed to fearing them.
Magen: She is back at work now. Jace has been nicknamed “Obie,” which stands for Office Baby. Her, Jace and Michael are doing really well and appreciated all the love and support she has received these past couple months. Nenana truly is a special place.
Josh: With the “Old House” being tore down Josh has been seeing tons of negative comments on social media. He would like to say see everyone helping out opposed to just talking negatively about situation they may not understand. The city and Tribe has tried to help Steve find another place for him to live and helped him pack. They understand the pain that goes into losing a home and they have been showing compassion and understanding. Josh encourages everyone to help Steve out any way they can.
The Nenana Airport beacon has been fixed! During the nights you should be able to the light circulate in the night sky in our community. The city is wanting to get the airport runway lights fixed but found out there is sketchy wiring that needs to be fixed beforehand. They are trying to find money in their budget to address this issue.
Bonnie: Bonnie loved the Restorative Justice Meeting she attended. She sees hope that this is something the community can adopt and is excited to continue seeing this progress. Good things are happening in Nenana!
The Naw-Ruz Party, Bahia New Years, is Wednesday evening.
