The Nenana Wellness Coalition is an alliance of representatives from various organizations, government agencies, community groups and individuals that meets weekly to discuss, evaluate, coordinate, consolidate, celebrate, masticate and help implement plans for improving the wellness and quality of life in Nenana
This week we had Mike Anderson, Bonnie Reed, Mary Alexander, Mary Ellen Robinson, Tim Horn, and Magen Spencer. We enjoyed chicken bacon ranch salad, cheese wtih crackers, and assorted nuts.

Bonnie: Thinks we should change the wording of the mission statement. It is outdated and we should update it.

Mike – Thursday, June 21, 2018 at 12:00pm at the Nenana Living Center. Everyone is welcome. The soccer coach this year will be Alexis Caulken. Soccer practie starts July 1, 2018.
Tim: The Nenana Book Club is reading a new book called Rough Crossings by Rosemary McGuire. They are meeting the first Monday of every month, July 2, 2018 at the Harveys home. Work session meeting tonight at the Nenana Multi Purpose Room for the City Council at 6:30pm tonight. Culture Camp is estimated to start July 17, 2018 with the potlatch at the end July 24, 2018. Childrens Class is, hopefully, going to start July 25, 2018 at 3pm at Tim Horn’s house. The Bahai center is having their musical devoation on July 18, 2018. The Bahai Holy Day that observes the killing of the Profit Harold of the Bahai faith. At Virginia Peony farm at the Tepee July 10, 2018 at 1pm. Everyone is welcome.
Breast Cancer Detection center van is coming June 27, 2018. You must be referred in order to be seen, the call is 800-464-4577 for scheduling. June 30, 2018 is the Prevention Carnival 12pm – 4pm at the ball field.
Mary Alexander: Busy and enjoying the summer. The Neda Lord Senior Center has a couple of homes openings but they need to be rehabbed.
Magen: The Annual Sobreity Potlatch July 20, 2018. Boats will start picking up people starting at 10am and ending at 4pm. Pickup will be at the Nenana Boat Landing. Please bring warm clothing and a tent if you plan on spending the night. The Department of Transporation is hiring for a CDL driver.
Maryellen: Their was a youth tobacco prevention conference happening at UAF. She is trying to rework at the action plan for the tobacco grant. The Prevention carnival is going to be a great event. There will be an outdoor BBQ, prizes and waterballoons.
