Introduction of Guests
American Red Cross was presented by Amgen and Virginia. The American Red Cross came to Nenana to present on starting a Disaster Action Team. The American Red Cross can offer training and resources to community members to respond to natural disaster in the community. This Disaster Action Team (DAT) will be the ones who speak to the victims of the disaster and collect information. The DAT then talks to the Fairbanks American Red Cross and together they can give the victims of the disaster money, toiletries and resources. If there is anyone interested please sign up at http://www.redcross.org/volunteer/become-a-volunteer#step1. There is already 3 members but they are looking for more. Magen Spencer has the 3 classes list that need to be done to be eligible for the DAT.

Laura: Is leaving to go on vacation this month. They are visiting family and friends in the lower 48.
Virginia: No applications for the farmer’s market manager. There are vendors available but no manager, yet. She has been working in the farm with her peonies.
Miles: Marilyn has come up with the funds to donate dirt and rebuild the community boxes. Miles is the point person to speak with if you want a plot they are available and they can have a spot in the green house. If you are wanting to have a plot please talk to Miles Martin. The dirt has been dumped at the community green house and is available for use at the garden. If there is vendor interested in selling homemade items or produce you can set up at the salmon bake. The only thing you have to do is give the city 10% of the profit of the day. The culture center is doing very well. Miles is running out of inventory at the culture center, things have been selling very well.
Mike: He is interested in buying fresh produce from community members for the living center. The Nenana Living Center has a large garden in the back that is not being used. He worries that there will be trouble maintain the garden if it is not being used.
Magen: Vocational Bible School June 4 – June 8 starting at 2:00pm – 4:30pm at the Nenana Bible Church on the corner of 2nd and market street.
