The Nenana Wellness Coalition is an alliance of representatives from various organizations, government agencies, community groups and individuals that meets weekly to discuss, evaluate, coordinate, consolidate, celebrate, masticate and help implement plans for improving the wellness and quality of life in Nenana
This week we had 6 participants, Ron Gherman, Magen Spencer, Laura Hokenson, Mike Arena, Bonnie Reed and Derek Ketzler. We enjoyed lasagna with cheese and crackers and assorted nuts.

Health Fair – We had another successful health fair this year! Everything went smoothly and there was lots of different booths than we originally have.
WELLNESS THOUGHT: “spring is when you feel like whistling even with a show full of slush.”

UPDATES/ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Derek: Bingo for Books is March 29, 2018 at the school pit starting at 5:30 – 7:00.
The EMT 1 class is looking for volunteers to play “dummies.” These volunteer will play a role and the class will help the fake injury.

March 30, 2018 is the Easter lunch at the Senior Center.
Laura: The Rec Center Easter party is Saturday, March 31 2018 starting at 11am and ending at 2pm. There will be 2 bikes being raffled off.
The libraries Easter Party is Saturday, March 31, 2018 starting at 1pm and ending at 3pm. everyone will be getting an Easter basket and candy.
Mike: Two people are coming to Alaska this summer to intern at the radio station!
Ron Gherman: April 7 is prom, the march is starting at 5pm in the gym and then the adolescents will be heading to the Anderson gym. Steven Caulken is looking for chaperones to volunteer for the event. If you would like to volunteer please contact him at the school.
WISA is the ski meet happening on Birch Hill. The teams will be staying at the school starting next Wednesday.
April 6, 2018 is a Teacher In-service Day. No kids.
April 12, 13 and 14 is Music Regionals is Anchorage.
April 9, 2018 is a spring music concert in Healy. Nenana band will be participating in it.
April 26, 27 and 28 is the Native Youth Olympics at the University of Alaska Anchorage.
The Nenana School District created an app! This app is ready to download at the app store for both android and apple devices. The app is called Nenana School District. It has the staff members and contact information for each one. The school events. You will be able to watch live streamed games and much much more!
