The Nenana Wellness Coalition is an alliance of representatives from various organizations, government agencies, community groups and individuals that meets weekly to discuss, evaluate, coordinate, consolidate, celebrate, masticate and help implement plans for improving the wellness and quality of life in Nenana
This week we had 6 participants: Virginia Young, Derek Ketzler, Magen Spencer, Tim Horn, Andrea Dubenziki and Derek Ketzler. We enjoyed homemade chili, cheese with crackers and assorted nuts.

Health Fair was added to the agenda
Introduction of Guests
The health fair will be March 24, 2018. The blood draw will start at 8am and the exhibits will start at 9am. Laura has been receiving donations for the health fair. Right now the main thing is looking for volunteers. Their volunteer website is alaskahealthfair.org.
Everyone discussed the emergency magnets. These will have Nenana emergency numbers. The numbers that are being considered for the magnet are Nenana Fire Department, Alaska State Dispatch, Poison Control, Care line, Rail belt Mental Health and Addictions, Office of Children Services, Tribal Force Youth Specialist, Domestic Violence Hotline, and Nenana’s Behavioral Health Aide.

Bonnie: The school concert has been canceled this month.
Thursday, February 22, 2018, the Cello Choir will be performing at the school gymnasium at 11am. The entire community is welcome to watch.
Tim: At the end of the month there is the Ayyam-I-Ha celebration through the Bahia Community. There will be a celebration at Bonnie’s house February 25, 2018, AT 5pm. The Children’s Class will be going to the Neda Lord Center on Friday, February 23, 2018, to pass out goody bags for the Bahia celebration. The Nenana Book Club is reading Heroes of the Frontier by Dave Edgars. Tripod days is next weekend, March 3rd and 4th. The Coffee House Performance will be March 3, 2018, starting at 7pm. Derek: The Nenana Native Council meeting will be February 21, 2018, at the Native Council conference room at 4pm.
Magen: Choose Respect is March 26, 2018.
Virginia: Every Wednesday is Devotions at Bonnie Reeds house at 7pm. “A community that prays together, stays together.” – Virginia
Andrea: Flu season is still happening. Mumps has been spreading quite rapidly in the Anchorage area. There has been a confirmed case in Fairbanks and in Juneau. Everyone, please wash hands! Andrea will be coming to the Nenana Health Fair and bringing a booth to present. She hopes to get to Nenana more often to come visit.
