The Nenana Wellness Coalition is an alliance of representatives from various organizations, government agencies, community groups and individuals that meets weekly to discuss, evaluate, coordinate, consolidate, celebrate, masticate and help implement plans for improving the wellness and quality of life in Nenana
This week we had 5 participants: Laura Hokenson, Derek Ketzler, Magen Spencer, Bonnie Reed, and her daughter Nikki. We enjoyed chicken Alfredo, crackers with cheese and assorted nuts.

Health Fair was on the agenda. The health fair will be March 24, 2018. The blood draw will start at 8am and the exhibits will start at 9am. Laura has been receiving donations for the health fair. Right now the main thing is looking for volunteers.
Choose Respect: Choose Respect will be March 26, 2018. It will start at the school with presenters and then there will be a march. That evening will be a potluck dinner.

UPDATES/ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Bonnie: There will be a Freecycle at the Civic Center on Friday, February 16, 2018 at 5pm. This is a SOUPer Freecycle, soup will be provided, but everyone is encouraged to bring a dish.
Nikki: Nikki enjoyed her time in Nenana. She loves the community dynamic and even though there are big hurdles in the community, everyone seems like they are able to band together.
Derek: The Nenana Native Council meeting will be February 21, 2018 at the Native Council conference room. The Nenana Fire Department is looking for one more person to sign up for the EMT class in Nenana. The tuition for this class is $1,000 per person but monthly payments can be established talking to Joe Forness prior to the class. There will be no obligation to be on the Nenana Fire Department. Registration will be January 18 – February 16. Classes start February 19, 2018 – March 9, 2018 between 8am – 6ish.
Magen: No Updates
Laura: Planning the health and preparing for the RMHA audit has taken up most of Laura’s time.
