The Nenana Wellness Coalition is an alliance of representatives from various organizations, government agencies, community groups and individuals that meets weekly to discuss, evaluate, coordinate, consolidate, celebrate, masticate and help implement plans for improving the wellness and quality of life in Nenana
This week we had 4 participants: Virginia Young, Bonnie Reed, Magen Spencer and Laura Hokesnon. We enjoyed lasagna, brownies, crackers with cheese, and assorted nuts.

Speakers/Topics
Laura presented what she has been doing for the Health Fair so far. The health fair is March 24, 2018 8am – 1pm, the exhibits will be starting at 9am. She is and will continue to send out donation letters.
Magen talked briefly about Choose Respect. She is wanting to do it again this year, but is not sure of the date. She says between mid-march to end of April is the expected event date. She will be collaborating with Maryellen and the youth to come up with the details of the event/

UPDATES/ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Bonnie: The Nenana Native Council meeting is tonight at 6:30, January 16, 2018 at 6:30pm.
The Veterans potluck lunch is January 18, 2018 at 12:00pm at the Senior Center.
The Community Safety Pride Meeting has been rescheduled until February 15, 2018 at 6pm at the Hall.
The first home basketball game is January 18, 2018 starting at 4pm. The basketball team will be playing against Tri-Valley.
Laura: Laura will be doing WIN next week, January 23, 2018.
Virginia: Children classes are every Friday after school. Virginia picks the children up at school and brings them to Tim Horns home.
Knitting class is every Thursday at the library between 6pm-7pm.
Bible study is every Thursday at the Parish Hall starting at 7pm.
Yoga is every Monday at 10am at the Neda Lord Center.
Magen: Phlight camp is January 19 and 20 at the school.
Nick Monroe is having a fundraiser at the David Salmon Tribal Hall in Fairbanks. Nick was recently diagnosed with cancer and all funds will be going directly to him for treatment. The fundraiser is January 26, 2018, starting at 5pm – 12am.
