The Nenana Wellness Coalition is an alliance of representatives from various organizations, government agencies, community groups and individuals that meets weekly to discuss, evaluate, coordinate, consolidate, celebrate, masticate and help implement plans for improving the wellness and quality of life in Nenana
This week we had 8 participants, Magen Spencer, Bonnie Reed, Ron Gherman, Virginia Young, Mary Alexander, Gayle Ramey and Derek Ketzler. We enjoyed homemade macaroni and cheese, cheese with crackers and assorted nuts with raisins.

PRESENTATION OF AGENDA AND CALL FOR MODIFICATIONS:
Phlight Club and school activities was added to the agenda
Introduction of Guests:
Magen gave an update on phlight club. Phlight club will January 19 and 20th at the school. It will start on Friday at 10am and go to till 2pm, then it will continue at 5pm and go until the next day at 11am. If any adult in the community would like to be anchor, please contact Katie Stone at the school.
Basketball and skiing have started at the school. The first basketball home game will be against Tri-Valley on January 18, 2018. The basketball team leaves for Cordova January 21 and will not return to the school until January 28. N.I.T begins February 1 – 3, in preparation of N.I.T there will be school January 31, 2018.

Gayle: The living center is in full swing again with the return of the students coming back from Christmas break. They have a total of 78 students so far, this number is at the highest total of students coming back. She reports everything has been going well this year and they have had minimum problems with all the students.
Derek: Nenana Native Council meeting will be January 16, 2018 at 6:30. Derek was voted as treasurer/secretary on the Native Council Board. Post Office will be closed Martin Luther King Day January 15, 2018.
Magen: School starts back up January 21, 2018. RMHA will be closed MLK Day on January 15, 2018.
Mary: Mary had a great Christmas, after Christmas she and her husband traveled to Arizona to spend time with her family.
Virginia: Yoga is now at 10am on Monday at the Neda Lord Center. Book club is now reading ‘My Father’s Ghost is Climbing in the Rain by Patricio Pron, there next meeting will be February 5, 2018. The Parish hall is doing bible study every Thursday at 7:pm. The library is doing a knitting class every Thursday at 6: pm-7pm.
Bonnie: January 18, 2018 is the Veterans Appreciation lunch at the Senior Center, this is potluck style. The city council meeting is this Thursday, January 11, 2018.
