This week, we had 12 participants: Magen Spencer, Bonnie Reed, Derek Ketzler, Mike Anderson, and Amie Verhagen with her two little boys, Tim Horn, Mary Alexander, Jerry Bean, Andrea Dubenziki and Brianna Ketzler with her two boys. We enjoyed meat loaf, white rice, assorted nuts and crackers with cheese.

SPIRITUAL MOMENT: Amie Verhagen
PRESENTATION OF AGENDA AND CALL FOR MODIFICATIONS:
Envisioning Wellness and the public health nurse was added to the agenda.
Introduction of Guests: Mike Anderson and Jerry Bean
Envisioning Wellness was spoken by Tim. The Mudge Duo will be presenting on the importance of music August 8, 2017. Rosemary Allen will be presenting to WIN about Railbelt Mental Health and Addictions September 12. Amie Verhagen will be presenting about depression, how to manage it and build support systems on July 25, 2017. Brianna and Magen are going to be presenting on the Adverse Childhood Experiences study August 29, 2017. Joe Forness mentioned using the Fire Department to watch a video about administering narcan and doing a CPR class. There has been some conversation with the city employees about them presenting to WIN about their jobs. Jessica has been in contact, she mentioned asking again sometime in October. The WIN committee would also like to meet the new principal of Nenana, eventually. The WIN members would like to meet with Kristy and Amie Verhagen to see if they could present about the health challenges they do. Amie put a tentative date for August 15, 2017.
WELLNESS THOUGHT: Life only comes once, so be with whoever, or do whatever makes you smile.
Andrea: The public health nurse came down to check in on the narcan situation and if there was any follow up questions. Tim said she gave hers away to someone she felt could possibly use it. Andrea confirmed that was the purpose of these kits and she refilled the one Tim gave away. The Nenana Fire Department ordered narcan kits to give away, but they have not been sent, yet. Once they are, residents can knock on the Fire Department door and receive a narcan kit, no questions asked. There is a video about resilience and the effects of Childhood Adverse Experiences. Andrea said, she will try to find the video and send a link of it.
Amie: The girls camp and other time consuming events have passed. She is now looking forward to tending to her garden and continuing to write her book. She had her parents come to Nenana and watch the kids while she and her husband celebrated their anniversary in Denali.
Mary: The community garden is in full spring. She has been getting a ton of help from Jim, he water and cares for the garden, as well. At the Saturday Market she will be bringing green, such as Kale, and Romaine.

Tuesday night at 6:30 at Tim Horn’s house, youth and young adults are welcome to come by to talk about the significance of youth and brainstorm ideas on how to bring wellness to the community. There will be taco’s provided. The book club is reading Women of the Silk. This book is taken place in China. Tim’s sister Shelley is coming to Nenana and will hopefully, come to a WIN meeting. There is a total Eclipse on August 21, 2017.
