Nenana Wellness Coalition

The Nenana Wellness Coalition is an alliance of representatives from various organizations, government agencies, community groups and individuals that meets weekly to discuss, evaluate, coordinate, consolidate, celebrate, masticate and help implement plans for improving the wellness and quality of life in Nenana Alaska.
This week we had 6 participants; Laura Hokenson, Derek Ketzler, Rosemary Allen, Bonnie Reed, Virginia Young we all enjoyed spaghetti with meat sauce, salad, cheese and crackers, and assorted nuts.

The Nenana City Public School principal was added to the agenda
MINUTES: The minutes generated last week were posted at the WIN link at www.railbelt.org and submitted electronically to the WIN e-list.
INTRODUCTION OF GUESTS:
The Nenana City Public School principal, Sherri Carattini, received an award for Principal of the year.
WELLESS THOUGHT: “You can cut all the flowers, but you can’t keep spring from coming.”
Laura: The last head start potluck will be April 20, 2017. The last day of school is May 26, 2017 for head start.
Magen: The annual addiction school will be in Anchorage May 1-3.
Virginia: Yoga starts April 19, 2017 at 10am at the Neda Lord Center. Knitting class will be at the library every Wednesday at 5:30. The Baha’i Ridvan will be the 1st, 9th, and 12th day. Bonnie Reed will be hosting a celebration on the 12th day, April 20, 2017, there will be a potluck. The farmers market will start May 20, 2017 at the civic center, 10am-2pm. It will be held every Saturday. If you have a booth at the civic center, 10% of your profits will asked to be paid back to the farmer’s market. The Nenana Native Council is hiring a manager for the farmer’s market. You can pick up an application for the position at the NNC.
Music Fest is in Valdez April 19 – 21
Native Youth Olympics is in Anchorage April 26 – 29
The grand march for prom is April 29 at 5pm in the gym
Exhibitions of learning will be May 3 in the school between 5pm – 7pm
Spring concert is May 17 at 6:30
Graduation for high school is May 21
Bonnie: Bonnie gave us an update on how Tim Horn is doing. Food boxes are available for pick up the last Wednesday of each month at noon.
