The Nenana Wellness Coalition is an alliance of representatives from various organizations, government agencies, community groups and individuals that meets weekly to discuss, evaluate, coordinate, consolidate, celebrate, and help implement plans for improving the wellness and quality of life in Nenana Alaska.
There were 10 in attendance today, including: Kat McElroy Bonnie Reed, Tim Horn, Audrey Roth, Jeannie Bennet, Virginia Young, Bill, Rebecca and Emily Troxel, and Mary Alexander.
We enjoyed garbanzo bean and mutton soup, mixed green salad, and Ritz crackers with a sliced cheese and raisins & pecans for lunch.
WELCOME followed by the READING OF MISSION STATEMENT, by this week’s chair-person: Jeannie Bennet.
PRAYER was led by Bill Troxel followed by the PLEDGE OF ALLEGIENCE
PRESENTATION OF AGENDA AND CALL FOR MODIFICATIONS: There was one addition to the agenda.

Dancing In The Streets: Maryellen Robinson continues to encourage people to contact her if they want to have a float in the DITS parade. Mike Anderson will be in charge of the food, has made a menu, and will supervise NSLC students in preparation and serving. It is not known at this time if Akeela House from Fairbanks will be able to travel up to Nenana to participate. A DJ has been contracted and we look forward to a large turn-out.

Tim: School starts tomorrow at 7:45 AM. Late start Wednesday has become late start Monday.
There will be a themed devotional at Bonnie’s house Wednesday, September 29th, prayers for the educators and students.
Tim has had emails back and forth with Felicia at the Blood Bank in regards to the next Nenana Blood drive. There is some confusion as to the date. Tim thought October 10th but Felicia thought October 3rd. Tim will call Susan at the school to confirm.
The Book Club meets September 10th at 7 PM; the book being read is Animal, Vegetable, Mineral. Location of the meeting is undetermined at this time.
Bill: Enjoyed his birthday celebration.
Virginia Enjoyed her blueberry picking and the Peony Grower’s Farm Tour. She will be putting four thousand more peony roots in come September.
Bonnie September 2nd will be the Seniors train trip to Denali.
Kat: David’s baler broke, again, so he has purchased a new (used) baler from Delta. Life is only all about hay down out at the air strip right now.
Jeannie: Speaking of things that br5eak, their cement mixer motor went on the fritz which has caused delays and problems pouring the foundation for their new shop.
She would like to do one more push this summer for Project Overhaul.
